AWARDS 2006

Derek Moore proprietor of the Kelburn Brewery, Barrhead, pulls a pint of Kelburn ‘Cart Blanche’ voted Champion Beer of Scotland 2006 at the Scottish Tradional Beer Festival, held in the Assembly Rooms, George Street, Edinburgh from 8-10 June 2006.

With Derek are Jim Strang (left), Renfrewshire Branch member and Scottish Traditional Beer Festival Bar Manager and Ken Davie (right) Scottish Branches CAMRA Divisional Director.

Kelburn Cart Blanche is named after Paisley's river, the White Cart Water. This golden full-bodied 5% abv ale boasts smacks of flavour. The appearance is enhanced by a touch of wheat malt, giving good head retention.

Derek Moore is a founder member of the Renfrewshire Branch of CAMRA

Danny Matheson, Chairman of the Renfrewshire Branch CAMRA commented: The worthy winner was Cart Blanche from Kelburn. This is an extremely prestigious and sought after award. I'm sure everyone will join me in congratulating Derek and the team on their best award yet.
