AWARDS 2007

The John Drew Trophy and Beer of the Paisley Beer Festival 2007 was awarded on Tuesday 17 July 2007 to Robbie Walker of the Cairngorm Brewery Company Ltd, Aviemore for their ‘Trade Winds’ beer. A small party of members made the trip to this Highland village to make the presentation, made by Branch Chairman Danny Matheson. There was also a visit around the brewery which is located in the Dalfaber Industrial Estate, Aviemore. Inverness-shire.

Cairngorn TRADE WINDS is a 4.3% ABV light golden beer in colour with a high proportion of wheat giving it a clean fresh taste. The mash blends together with the Perle hops and elderflower providing a bouquet of fruit and citrus flavours.

Apart from the Renfrewshire Branch CAMRA award, the beer has also been awarded ‘CAMRA Champion Speciality Beer of Britain’ in 2004, 2005 and 2006; the SIBA ‘UK Champion Best Bitter 2006’ and the ‘CAMRA Champion Beer of Scotland 2004’.
