Paisley
Real Ale Festival
The
2008 Paisley Real Ale Festival takes place as usual within Paisley
Town Hall in the very heart of Paisley town centre.
This,
the 21st year of the biggest beer festival in Scotland, will open
to the public from 5.00pm on Wednesday 30 April, 2008.
Thereafter the opening hours are as in previous years from 12
noon. The event closes on Saturday evening, May 30th, 2008 at 9:30pm.
Over
130 different real cask conditioned beers will be available with
this year a focus on the south coast of England.
In
a few weeks before the festival you will have an opportunity to
view the 2008 beer list visiting online our sister website here.
The
Main Hall within Paisley Town Hall featured real ales in 2006
from Cornwall and from Wales. Breweries large and small were represented.
The Real cider and real Perry stand was also in the main hall.
While
in the North Minor Hall, the best of Scotland's craft brewers
were available including Renfrewshire's two breweries; Barrhead
based Kelburn and from the county, Houston Brewery.
Fyne
Ales ‘Maverick’ was voted as the ‘Champion Beer of the Paisley
Beer Festival 2006’ in a blind tasting to the highest CAMRA specification.
